Nomination for Australian Cross Country Championships

The online nomination for the Australian Cross Country Championships in Geelong on 23 August will be available on www.nswathletics.org.au by the end of the week.

Filiming Opportunity for Sprinter

The ABCs New Inventors program is filming a short tribute to Charlie Booth - a young Aussie sprinter who in the late 1920s is credited with inventing the first starting block.

They are looking for a young male athlete (early 20s) to play the part of Charlie this Friday, 20 June.

He will need to sprint, dig small holes in the ground to push off against, "build" a starting block, and use the block to start.

Illawarra All Schools Carnival

Athletics Wollongong and Illawarra Blue Stars will conduct the 23rd Illawarra All Schools Track and Field Carnival on the 3rd August held at Beaton Park Athletics Centre, Wollongong.
