Athletics NSW
Kembla Joggers is affiliated with Athletics NSW allowing all club members to represent the club in ANSW and AA organised track, road and cross-country championship events and also in selected teams at state, national and international level. Almost 150 club members are now registered with ANSW which allows us to enter many teams in state relay events during the year across all age-group categories from juniors through to veterans.
An additional registration fee is payable on joining ANSW but joining is completely optional. All members must wear the approved full club uniform when competing in any championship or interclub events run by ANSW or AA. Registration with ANSW can be carried out upon registration with the club or online on the ANSW website For further information about joining ANSW contact the club ANSW Registrar Dave Higgins on 4284 1317.
The club also provides generous financial assistance for travel and accomodaation expenses for KJ members who represent the club at a national or international event sanctioned by ANSW or AA. For more information refer to our Athlete Development and Assistance Scheme

How to Register with ANSW
Complete the ANSW registration form available at KJ events, and return with appropriate fee or better join online You must be fully registered with both the club and ANSW before you can compete. Registration on the day of an event is no longer an option.
Uniforms
Registered club athletes are required to wear their club uniforms in all ANSW championship events. Some items of KJ clothing are not part of our official uniform so please check with our clothing sales officer. Plain navy blue shorts of any brand are considered acceptable for club uniform. Current ANSW cloth numbers are required to be firmly fixed at front and back for the duration of the current season. The sponsors name needs to be clearly shown.
Entering ANSW Events
Athletes may enter for winter and interclub events online or on the day with a late fee payable. Please arrive with plenty of time for this to be done.
It is the responsibility of all athletes to advise their age-group contact person (see above) of their availability at least two weeks prior to every ANSW Winter Championship event. Athletes should arrive at ANSW Championship events at least 1 hour before the scheduled race start time. If you expect to arrive late on the day or are held up please advise your team age-group contact prior to the day.
KJ Selection Guidelines for ANSW Relays
Athletes must confirm their availability one week prior to the race day. All available athletes will then be ranked in order to determine the top 4 runners to make up the first male and female A-Team in each age-group. Anyone who notifies the committee of their availability after this time will be put into a pool of athletes who will be used to form B-teams, or to make up teams in other age-groups. Once teams are selected it is the duty of each team manager to communicate this to his/her athletes.
The order of running in a relay event is done in consultation with all team members and the team manager.
Teams will be formed from available athletes within each age-group. If an age-group has spare runners for whom a team cannot be formed then these athletes may make up teams in another age-group for which they are also eligible.
Any athletes who wish to be selected in an open category should communicate this to the open team manager as early as possible.
The selection committee reserves the right to alter the teams under certain circumstances.
It is a policy of Kembla Joggers that club teams are to be formed before regional teams.
